Family court creates new duties for judicial system

The new law that created a family court system for West Virginiaalso created two dozen new duties for the state court system and theurgent need for millions of dollars worth of technology.

State Supreme Court Administrator Barbara Allen says she is"riding herd" on her staff to get the project completed by the Jan.1 deadline and to find ways to get it done for less money.

"For now, we're just flying around trying to see where we need tostart and what we have to do first," Allen said. "The pace is justfrenetic."
