Panama hangs on to beat Guadeloupe 3-2 at Gold Cup

DETROIT (AP) — Panama raced to a 3-0 lead after 57 minutes and then held on to win its opening Gold Cup Group C match against Guadeloupe despite two late goals from Brice Jovial on Tuesday.

Blas Perez and Luis Tejada scored first-half goals and Gabriel Gomez' penalty gave Panama a three-goal buffer inside the hour.
