NSW:Hospital sale will deprive mental patients

SYDNEY, Jan 11 AAP - Mentally ill patients will suffer as a result of the NSW government's
plan to sell land around Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital, the opposition says.

The sell-off will mean a facility to treat mentally ill patients will be left off the
plans for the site redevelopment, opposition health spokeswoman Jillian Skinner says.

The government had previously planned to replace the hospital's outdated mental health
unit with a new building but that had now been cancelled, Ms Skinner said on Tuesday.
