KING CASE SHOWS BLACKS TREATED UNFAIRLY, POLL SAYS.(Main)

An overwhelming majority of blacks interviewed in two polls say the verdict in the Rodney King case shows that blacks don't receive fair treatment in the U.S. judicial system.

A USA Today poll conducted Thursday found that 81 percent of blacks and 36 percent of whites believe the justice system is biased against blacks.

A second poll, conducted for ABC News and The Washington Post, found that 78 percent of blacks feel the King verdict "shows that blacks cannot get justice in this country." Twenty- five percent of whites agreed with that statement.
